Payroll and finance
One approved file per period. By wage code.
Approved statements land in a balance per person. A payout run pushes the balance to your payroll system, split by wage code, with a status for every person. Finance stops rebuilding commission in a spreadsheet.
Finance rebuilds commission every single month.
Export from the CRM, lookups against the plan, a round of emails, then re-keying into payroll. The slowest step in the loop is also the one with the most hands on it.
So commission is always the last line to close.
Every approved statement becomes balance.
When the last approver signs, the statement total moves to the person’s balance account, corrections and adjustments included. Payroll reads a number, not a formula.
So what is owed is always one query away.
One run pays everyone.
A payout run pushes each person’s balance to the payroll integration first, then books the negative balance transaction. Split by wage code. Test payouts are saved but never deducted. A failed item is never retried automatically, because a retry after a successful push would pay someone twice.
So payroll is safe by construction, not by double-checking.
Vacation and leave, by the rules.
Import absence, attach collective agreements, and let the plan decide what commission does during leave. No side spreadsheet for the edge cases HR cares about.
So compliance is part of the calculation, not a note in the margin.
Finance sees the cost before the period closes.
Accrued, approved and paid commission per team and per plan, live. The financial dashboard answers "what is commission going to cost this quarter" on any day of the quarter.
So there are no surprises at quarter end, for finance or for the board.
