Can you track commission in SuperOffice?
Not as a ready-made feature. SuperOffice CRM has no commission calculation, but every sale has an amount, profit, owner, status and sale date, and sales targets can measure amount, count or profit per user. The commission itself is usually calculated in a spreadsheet from an export of sold sales, or in a separate commission system.
This guide is for teams that run SuperOffice as their CRM and calculate commission in Excel today. First, what SuperOffice actually offers according to its own documentation. Then a step-by-step flat-rate setup, and finally the places where it usually breaks.
What SuperOffice offers today (October 2026)
We went through the SuperOffice documentation at docs.superoffice.com and found no module that calculates, approves or pays commission. What exists is data on the sale and tools for tracking targets.
| Building block | What it does | Use for commission |
|---|---|---|
| Sale | Amount (the value of the sale), owner (the user responsible for the sale), sale date, sale type, stage and probability | The basis: amount, rep and period |
| Status | A sale is open, sold, lost or stalled | Only sold sales count |
| Profit and Credited | On the Details tab: profit calculated from the sale amount and cost, and Credited, which assigns the sale to a responsible department | Commission on profit instead of revenue |
| Quote lines | Cost, list price, discount and earning per line, if you create quotes in SuperOffice | Commission per product or on margin |
| Sales targets | Yearly targets for the company, groups and users with monthly or quarterly intervals, measured in amount, count or profit. Requires Sales Premium or the Growth plan, and more target types require the Sales Targets Unlimited add-on or the Super plan | Tracking attainment |
| Dashboards | Tiles that show targets and actual sales in the same chart, including for the individual user | Rep view of attainment |
| Selections and export | Export a selection to Excel, or to a file based on a template | A file for calculation and payroll |
Two details are worth knowing. A sale has one owner, and stakeholders on a sale are partners and subcontractors outside your company, not colleagues sharing the deal. And SuperOffice saves a copy of the sale in a history table every time it is edited in the user interface, so changes can be traced. That history says nothing about what commission was paid, though.
Step by step: flat-rate commission from SuperOffice
The simplest model, a flat commission rate on the sale amount, can be run from a selection and an export:
- Define the basis. Write down whether commission is paid on the amount or on profit, that only sales with status Sold count, and that the sale date decides the period. SuperOffice uses the same date field for the expected, lost and won date, so check that sold sales carry the date they were actually won.
- Build a selection. Create a selection of sales with status Sold and a sale date in the month.
- Pick the columns. Show at least owner, amount, profit, sale date and sale type, so you can check the basis.
- Export to Excel. Use the export icon and Export to Excel. If the file needs a fixed format, use Export to file with a template, which decides the fields and their order.
- Calculate per rep. Build a pivot table with owner as rows and the sum of amount, and multiply by the rate.
- Check and keep. Review the numbers with the sales manager, move the amounts to payroll and keep the file as documentation of what was paid.
Example: three sold sales at 6%
Example: A rep has three sales with status Sold in October, and the rate is 6% of the amount.
| Sale | Amount | Profit | Commission (6% of amount) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sale A | DKK 140,000 | DKK 42,000 | DKK 8,400 |
| Sale B | DKK 65,000 | DKK 26,000 | DKK 3,900 |
| Sale C | DKK 210,000 | DKK 52,500 | DKK 12,600 |
| Total | DKK 415,000 | DKK 120,500 | DKK 24,900 |
If you pay 15% of profit instead, commission comes to DKK 18,075 (15% of DKK 120,500). That only works if cost is filled in on every sale. If it is missing, profit equals the amount and commission is too high.
Also decide whether commission follows the sale or the invoice. SuperOffice is a CRM, so the invoice is usually created in an accounting system afterwards. If the order changes on delivery, or you give a discount after the sale, the amount in SuperOffice is no longer what the customer pays. If the plan does not say which one counts, it ends up as a dispute.
Where SuperOffice commission tracking breaks
The export is a snapshot of your sales. Anything that depends on other sales, on time or on what has already been paid has to live outside SuperOffice.
| Need | Why it is hard in SuperOffice | Typical workaround |
|---|---|---|
| Tiered commission across a period | The rate depends on the rep's total sales in the period, not on a single sale | A spreadsheet with a running total per rep |
| Accelerators above target | Sales targets show attainment but calculate no payout | A spreadsheet next to the target dashboard |
| Split commission | A sale has one owner. Stakeholders are external parties, and Credited is a department | Custom fields for the share and second rep, plus manual allocation |
| Clawbacks and corrections | If a sold sale is changed or cancelled, the export simply shows the new number. There is no record of commission paid | Manual negative lines in next month's file |
| Sold versus invoiced | The amount on the sale is the rep's value, not necessarily what gets invoiced in the accounting system | Reconciling against invoices every month |
| Approval and payroll file | No approval of commission statements, and the export is a list of sales, not a payroll file with employee number and pay code | Email, a signature and reformatting in Excel |
| Rep visibility | Reps see their sales and targets, but no single statement with tiers, corrections and amount paid | A PDF or spreadsheet by email |
A tier the export cannot calculate
Example: The plan pays 5% up to DKK 250,000 a month and 9% on everything above. A rep sells DKK 180,000 on the 6th and DKK 150,000 on the 20th. The first sale earns DKK 9,000. The second has to be split: DKK 70,000 at 5% (DKK 3,500) and DKK 80,000 at 9% (DKK 7,200), DKK 10,700 in total. The month's commission is DKK 19,700. Neither row in the export can work that out alone, because the answer depends on the order and on the other sale.
If the first sale is later cancelled, you need a clawback, and the tier moves for the second sale too. That is where most spreadsheets start costing more time than they save.
When to move commission out of SuperOffice
SuperOffice is strong at running the sales process and tracking targets. Consider a dedicated tool when one or more of these apply:
- The plan has more than one component, such as tiers, targets, accelerators or a bonus.
- Two or more reps share sales.
- You run clawbacks when customers cancel or invoices are credited.
- Someone spends one or more days a month exporting, calculating and reformatting for payroll.
- Reps question the numbers because they cannot see how the amount was calculated.
Prowi calculates commission live from sales data according to your plan, including tiers, splits and clawbacks. Reps see their earnings in an app, and once the period is approved, one approved file goes to payroll. See the Prowi and SuperOffice page for how SuperOffice data gets into Prowi, or book a demo.
FAQ
Does SuperOffice have a commission feature?
No, not as of October 2026. SuperOffice has amount, profit and owner on the sale and sales targets per user, but we found no feature that calculates, approves or pays commission. The calculation happens in a spreadsheet or a separate system.
How do you calculate commission in SuperOffice?
Create a selection of sales with status Sold in the period and export it to Excel with owner, amount and profit. Then calculate commission per rep in a pivot table. Check that sold sales carry the date they were actually won, since SuperOffice uses the same field for the expected and won date.
Can SuperOffice sales targets be used for commission?
Sales targets can measure amount, count or profit per user, group and company and show attainment on a dashboard. They do not calculate a payout, so accelerators and target bonuses still have to be calculated outside SuperOffice.
Which SuperOffice licence do sales targets require?
According to the SuperOffice documentation, sales targets require Sales Premium or the Growth plan. Adding more target types or targets for several groups requires the Sales Targets Unlimited add-on or the Super plan.
Can two reps share a sale in SuperOffice?
A sale has one owner. Stakeholders on a sale are external partners and subcontractors, and the Credited field assigns the sale to a department. Splitting commission between two reps therefore has to be handled with custom fields or outside SuperOffice.
