Free commission and sales compensation templates: the short answer
Prowi offers six free templates for commission and sales compensation. Two are in English: a commission statement template and a sales contest template with an automatic leaderboard, both in Excel. Four more are in Danish, built for Danish employment contracts: a sales budget, a commission calculator, a commission agreement and a bonus agreement.
Each template has its own article with an explanation and a download link. The spreadsheets use ordinary formulas with no macros and can be downloaded without signing up.
Templates in English

Templates in Danish
These four are written in Danish for Danish sales teams. The articles are in Danish too.
- Sales budget template (Excel, in Danish): from revenue goal to pipeline, number of reps, quotas per rep and month, OTE and commission cost.
- Commission calculation template (Excel, in Danish): calculates commission with a flat rate, tiers or an accelerator, with clawbacks, a cap and a payroll file.
- Commission agreement template (Word, in Danish): an annex to the employment contract covering basis, rates, statements, clawbacks, holiday, sickness, termination and changes.
- Bonus agreement template (Word, in Danish): an annex covering bonus type, targets, weighting, payout scale, leaving, absence and holiday.

How the templates fit together
- Budget: the sales budget sets the number of reps, the quotas and what commission may cost.
- Agreement: the commission and bonus agreements write the rules down so reps know what applies.
- Calculation: the commission calculation template works out commission each month under the agreement.
- Statement and payroll: the commission statement shows the rep the calculation, collects approvals and produces the payroll summary.
- Campaigns: the sales contest runs alongside commission when one goal needs extra focus.
Use the same names, rates and periods in every template, so the agreement, the calculation and the statement say the same thing. If they differ, the agreement is what applies.

When are spreadsheets not enough?
